McCain Needs A Win Tonight

By Christopher Coffey
Republican Political Consultant

Senator McCain must win tonight’s debate outright. If viewers walk away thinking it was draw, then Senator Obama will appear as qualified as McCain to be President. This is why McCain must give voters a compelling reason for his presidency with particular emphasis on the economy.

The bar is set high for John McCain. The last debate was a draw, which was good for Obama, because he successfully neutralized the argument that he lacked the experience to be president.

McCain now has little on which to rest his campaign. The clock is ticking, and there is still no apparent McCain vision or message. Absent a win tonight, polls could grow worse.

McCain’s message problem is self-inflicted. Rather than craft the raison d’etre for a McCain presidency, his campaign wasted months on trifles.

In the early summer, the message focused (and still does to a certain degree) on the wonders of McCain’s disciplined staff. The message then turned to Moses and the evils of Paris Hilton. The campaign whined about media. As fall approached, the campaign, quite theatrically, suspended and unsuspended itself. We also witnessed a remarkable magic trick whereby the McCain campaign made the charismatic Governor Palin appear, disappear and reappear before our very eyes.

Now, the McCain campaign invites us back to 1960’s with hopes that we will find purple haze inside the Obama brain. Obama may lean left, but he is no Weatherman.

To reverse polls, McCain must eschew puerile negativity and stay positive and focused. Here are some ways to do this tonight:

Start big: McCain should present his philosophy (finally). He can tell us for instance, about the corrupting influence of government and the interests that move its levers.

Then go small: McCain should take his philosophy and apply it the economy. He must not fear this issue. If he neglects it, he will appear detached from front-page reality. He should therefore outline his vision for a reconstituted financial system free from those special interests with close ties to the Democratic Party. He should also tell us how his economic plan keep the American economy competitive, while the higher taxes and special interest spending could turn this crisis into a lasting depression.

Finish positive: McCain should give us a healthy does of optimism. Just as a dearth of pessimism contributed this financial crisis– widespread real estate enthusiasm could not distinguish between subprime and shinola– a dearth of optimism will only prolong this panic. So lift our spirits John McCain.

Here is a good outline of what both candidates need to do at the debate…

The Matter at Hand: What McCain and Obama need to do to win…

Comment by Al

So much for that big win- are you ready to admit McCain is history yet?

Comment by Moderate

Don’t you all see that B. Obama is a smooth talker, and has no solid backgroud as a politician? You are all being sucked in by charm.

Comment by Arch Bishop

After tonight, it’s all over but the shouting.

McCain should just go back to his homes.

BTW we Democrats everywhere are going to put the pedal to the metal and stomp you so badly, it will take a generation for Republicanism to come back to favor.

Comment by billy

that has to be the saddest debate i’ve ever seen - McCain was so far out of his league, he sounded like a blathering idiot! Nothing against old people, but i’s time to retire, old man! THe best part was offering to buy $300 BILLION dollar worth of bad mortgages! The right wing must have loved that one!

Comment by The Mathematician

Okay, somebody help me out with this fuzzy math.

As someone else pointed out, when Obama goes up in the polls, my retirement accounts go down. Not good.

Also, note that the Democratic Congress has the lowest approval rating ever - around 15-16% while Bush’s ratings, while in the mid-twenties, are at least 50% higher.

If the Democratic Congress has a lower approval rating than the President by 50%, then how does electing another Democrat fix the problem?

Comment by Bruce

One word each for both politico’s.

McCain looked *tired*… Are his political handlers working for the Demos? Sarah Palin? Jeezz

Obama looked *motivated*… Who is really behind this guy? He’s almost too slick. $$$$$

Flip a coin– politicians–both voted to bail out wallstreet fat-cats didn’t they?

Comment by H. Stanton

I listened to the Debate very carefully and the subject was to be on the economy and foreign affairs and that is what I wanted to hear. I did hear their views. When the panel on Fox were reviewing them they thought that we should hear about their personal views on subjects as abortion, etc. I heard that with Rick Warren.

Comment by Molly

The candidates are really getting to me. Look, we have had the same old discussions on doing something to fix healthcare benefits for families. Bill and Hillary could not do it, Bush couldn’t not either. What makes you all so sure the next president Obama or McCain are going to get it done.. It’s just more broken promises on top of a severly damaged economy. Look.. it will take years to get this country back into a good financial form to do anything. It’s remarkable at what they are promising will certainly take money. Which we do not have nor will we have for a good while. Just another gamble for change!

B. Hussien Obama does not effectivly addresse any issue.

Comment by Florida Republican

I have lost all respect for John McCain, and find it hard to believe anything he says anymore. I am sick about losing my respect for him–I started out so excited that we were going to get a good, common sense man. However, by default Obama will get my precious vote because John McCain and his campaign have shown him to be way less than honorable.

Comment by MainStream

McCain’s problem is that he submitted to the pressure from the ultra conservative pied pipers of Limbaughland. Palin is a puppet and McCain is suffering for it.

Comment by Tiffany

The stock market has gone down as Obama’s lead in the polls has gone up. Americans need to take notice of this. What will happen if he is elected President? Our country will not survive an Obama Presidency. We need John McCain.

Comment by Hank

McCain does not have anything to worry about. So far it is too close to call. The debates will not change that.
This is a very strange race. The torch of the Presidency is always passed to the same or the next generation. Both Clinton and Bush are baby boomers; they drank, did drugs, and got high on pot when they were young; then they became very conservative.

The torch should be passed to Obama. He is the next generation.
McCain predates Bush and Clinton. He was born well before World War II. He is in his 70s. He is near the age of my great grand father. A mind that old does not think clearly.

Comment by Alan J

Why should this be when Obama has NO experience, bad economic policies, has no clue on international strategy. Here is my reason: The liberal media has brain washed America. It is absolutely ridiculous and shameful, that Obama has been allowed to get as far as he has.

His whining over the Ayers, Reverend Wright and other associations is appalling. People are what their friends and associates are, when did this suddenly change? Because he, Obama, suddenly decides it is that way? A dangerous man and a dangerous misleading situation, America needs to wake up and now. We are heading towards a communist state or as they say a socialist state, unacceptable. There are plenty of places those who want to live that way can go and immigrate.

It is out rageous that the media demands an answer from Gov. Palin when Obama never answer anything with specificity.

Make Obama answer questions with specificty.

Amendment 14 - Citizenship Rights. Ratified 7/9/1868

3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

If I am to understand the Constitution correctly, should Barack Obama even be a United States Senator much less be running for President? If William Ayres has not changed his political stance in 40 years, which he is a declared enemy of the state, by both his own actions and his Communist beliefs, would that not fall under Ammendment 14, Article 3 above?

I am a young person (23) I have courses in Logic and because of it I am able to make a strong decision. After weighing both factors (albeit not from the media as they are very one sided toward democrats, except FOX news for the most part) I had came to a decision.

McCain: Pros: Means what he says with strong truth, has always stuck to his plan, never waivers, has experience in war, has very strong plans for good change.

Cons: Does not always get the points across on occasion (I notice the media does not help in this). Is not always saying what is needed to be said when it comes to what needs to be said to help his chances in the election.

Obama: Pros: Very charismatic, good use with words, when he speaks it is very thorough and talks about a lot of fixes for the current issues.

Cons: The media giving him the advantage is unfair, he is VERY wavy in what he says often changing and going back on his word, lack of a good record especially compared to McCain, pointing out that McCain taking off the campaign to help America not to long ago as being not able to “handle” it.

His association with past terrorists is unnerving, link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Obama’s campaign accuses McCain as Smearing with attacks on the above link, when they merely are letting Americans know the facts (what a campaign should be about, letting Americans know the facts to make a sound decision).

When Obama tries to “Smear” McCain back it is very weak, logically meaning that McCain has very little, if nothing to hide and is what America needs right now, a strong, honest President. Link here from FOX news:
http://www.hulu.com/watch/37943/americas-elec...
Notice this link is not favoring, merely stating fact.

Now, I know, it is starting to sound as I am favoring. But, based on logic and study alone I have come to the conclusion (not based from the media) that McCain is the obvious choice. I encourage you to do some research also.

Obama’s wife said that he is not a politician, but a community organizer trying to see how he can use politics to reach the ends in wants. So, he will be what he was in Chicago: someone who supports ACORN and insists that people of little means are supplied free housing by tax payers, someone who supports radical education for the over throw of traditional America and someone who is comfortable training people to “rise” in what he considers a racist America. What he will never be is a person who brings people together…he will never be my President because I am white, middle class and love my country. He and Rev. Wright, Calypso Louie, Tony Rezko and Father Flager may or may not share the same religion, but their cause is identical: destroy America.

Educated Ron: That’s the right, unbiased, attitude that only makes America better. I wish I could say the same thing, however my taxes wont go up or down under Obama tax policy.

Since “trickle down” econ’s has been instituted the gap between the rich and poor has only grown. This usually happens in third world countries however, its happening here and it’s happening faster. I’m not a dem and I”m not a republican but at least I’m willing to admit when something not working. Iraq; not working (but getting better), de-regulation; not working, Bush tax cuts; not working, health care; not workingm, a “better-than-thou” forgien policy; not working. If you think that Bush did a great job, I really don’t think you should vote in this election… isn’t it obvious?

I voted for McCain in the 2000 primaries, however, he’s lost my vote this year… here’s to better times.

I feel bad for McCain really, it seems as though he has stumbled time and time again
throughout this campaign. Sarah Palin has brought him so far down in the polls its amazing.
His campaign has been one Gaffe after another - Now there is talk about even more
attacks which I truly believe will ultimately bring him down most of all

Has McCain abandoned New Hampshire?

His Nashua and Manchester campaign offices are deserted. First Michigan, and now New Hampshire. Looks like McCain is conceding the swing states to Obama …

Hey, Young Voter, I hope your brain cells have matured enough to vote on substance and issues, instead of voting with a ignorance disability. I’m a 72-year Old Timer and at age 18 used to be as brainless as you appear. I thought I knew it all and that my dad was behind in times; but, the older I got, the smarter my dad appeared; and now, the older my 42 year old son is getting, the smarter I appeared to him. I don’t consider myself smart, only experienced and informed. Like McCain I don’t rely on YouTube and the biased media to keep abreast of Word News. I do independent research on the www to sort out the truth, and this is why I’ll vote AGAINST Obama, and here is why:

Obama’s socialist agenda is the “Redistribution of income and wealth.” In straight talk this is taking my hard-earned money and given it to a lazy a$$ not wanting to work as hard as I do. Got it? That’s Socialism! For the first 21 years of my life I lived in a Soviet occupied european country experiencing Marxist Socialism. What’s that? You’ll find out when Obama becomes president.

Sorry if you are offended by my straight talk; I just don’t know how to speak like Obama

I have a dream… that one day a man will NOT be judged by the color of their skin, But by the CONTENT OF THEIR CHARACTER. We should judge Obama by the content of his character, by his associations and his record in the congress? And the same goes for McCain. After reviewing both candidates Character I say Vote McCain!!

Did you really think my years as a Community Organizer were not connected to teaching radical views for oppressing whites/Americans? Did you see improvement in Illionois, under my watch, for the poor? How did you really think that I paid for my Havard degree…oh yeah student loans, not Terrorist funded. Did you really think that my connections with known terrorist AYERS were “just neighbors…oh yeah and I forgot one BIG Political Party AT AYERS HOME”? Even when contributions between Ayers & I were linked and those funds channeled into radical organizations promoting oppression of whites were shown by FOXNEWS, all I had to do was to give you some more sugar, EMPTY WORDS. claiming smears and not staying on script with the issues…for my plan of CHANGE WE NEED
AMERICANS chose to listen to my WORDS and pay NO attention to my ACTIONS. Come on now little ones you chose my BLUE PRINT FOR CHANGE…live & die by it, okay so you had to read between the lines a little to come up with the plan I am using now….such whiners.

I want everyone here who is voting for Obama to please come back here in a year and take credit for the destruction that a democratic run presidency and both houses will bring. I remembered what it was like while Carter was in office!!! I wished the people would have not allowed Civics to become an elective so maybe you all (democrats), would understand how the government works. Now how can the approval rating on a democratic run legislature be below 20% and yet so many people wanting to vote for a demoncrat? I will believe what the truth is when the voting is finished!!!!! Wake up America and lets take back what is really ours….the PEOPLES!!!!!

you are making a valid point, but voting doesn’t require a high degree of sophistication, it does require some common sense though. It also requires some independent thinking free of media biased media chatter, and so on.

You appear to me as someone with an analytical mind. Do you have an oppinion as to why our beloved country has become so dangerously DIVIDED?

I USED to make $250K owning and operating (and working 80 hours a week) a small business with 13 employees until Clinton became president. His retroactive tax increase forced me out of business. I sold my business at a 39% tax bite, and invested the rest in agressive mutual funds, and retired. Once in a while I hit $250K in investment distribution, but I need not worry about Obama proposed tax increase on the “rich”anymore, nor will I have to be concerned about death taxes when I die. My wealth is virtually gone.

I do have a survival plan I named after Obama’s socialistic “Redistribution of income and wealth” plan. I’s very simple. I distribute my residual wealth to my children and grandchildren and wait out the “3 year look back” period, then I’ll go on Medicaid and join the rest of the socialistic society. After all I’m entitled to my share of other taxpayers’ income and wealth.

With AIG bigwigs and their staffs exuding their charmful expenditure of $440,000 at an exclusive spa/resort right after our (the People’s treasury) lent them $85,000,000,000 to keep them in their silks, with the Democrats in Congress (including our savior Barry H. Obama) passing on McCain’s screeching for reform and regulation of Freddie and Fanny, with all the losses in the markets and the eminent Depression looming worldwide, perhaps it is time for Senator McCain to call us to arms to rebel against all the politicos who have led us down the gilded paths of empty promises to certain financial ruin (National Debt to loom to $14,000,000,000,000 soon, according to some estimates). Let’s return to the Constitution without the Federal Reserve (A “Strange Creature from Jaekel Island”), without any of the acronyms present, without the perrenial abdication of Congress from their specific constitutional duties through delegation of their power. Throw them all out, cancel the ilbegotten, ilconceived, stupidly foisted “bailout” or “rescue” or whatever you might call it. It should be called a cover your ass failure atthis point. Let the chips fall upon the wastrels as they may, as they are falling on us (the People).

We need to hear about Keating 5.

Why McCain Lied about being totured in Vietnam.

Why he had to let go of this ethics to lower his campaign standards.

What made him state that the economy is fundamentally strong.

Was the $700 Billion bailout a way to get the Economic Stimulus Check back with Triple the Interest ?

It is better to tax and spend than to borrow and spend.

More reforms needed on Corporate accounting standards.

1. it was determined by reps from the congressional hearing that McCain wasn’t involved in the criminal affair - his involvment was merely circumstantial and he was thusly exonerated of any and all charges. interestingly, the other 4 were all democrats.

2. lied about his torture? you sir, can go screw yourself.

3. the economy is FUNDAMENTALLY strong:
1. serving as, or being an essential part of, a foundation or basis; basic; underlying: fundamental principles; the fundamental structure.
i.e., the American idea of capitalism - or where one EARNS their keep as opposed to being given a free, government-endorsed, ride.

4. your statement assumes that there was some type of grand conspiracy to defraud the citizens of billions of tax dollers merely to cover the tracks of a failed attempt at stimulating the economy? do you think that something like that would not be made VERY VERY public? ill bet you think Cheney himself planted the explosives at the Trade Centers too? loosen the tin foil, hippy.

5. it is better to NOT spend, but some things need to be funded. sadly, Obummer thinks EVERYTHING needs to be funded - to the tune of $1trillion in NEW spending. interestingly, he has yet to abandon this despite the fact that our economy is tanking. i guess the top 5% will just foot the bill?

6. i dont know anything about corporate accounting standards - but i’m not a fan of the GOV interferring in the free-market in anyway except cases of fraud or embezzlement.

Man, I wish they’d do another YouTube session with the candidates. I’d love to see McCain and Palin faced with tough questions from real people instead of being coddled by interviewers who don’t do follow-up questions. You want these people to run our nation? Put them on the spot and see how they perform - without spin, without rehearsals, and without mercy!

Of course, McCain doesn’t know what YouTube is, and Palin thinks her CD drive is a beer holder, so maybe the YouTube idea wouldn’t be fair.

Comment by Kenneth Geller

Actually, it does not matter who wins. Obama Presidency or McCain Presidency, it’s only a question of how fast our Country will decline. They have both shown that they believe government is the answer to most problems, when it is the cause. Want a real fix for our current malaise, economically and foreign policy wise, elect a Ron Paul like President or atleast someone familar with the Cato Institute.

Comment by Tenn.

Julian:

McCain was exonerated in the Keating 5 scandal. That means INNOCENT.
He did not lie about being tortured in Vietnam, and you despicable for saying so.
He’s not lowering his campaign standards, he is fighting back.
He didn’t say the economy was fundamentally strong, he said the fundamentals of the economy were strong, meaning small businesses and the american worker.
Your bailout remark is asinine.
Ditto tax and spend. Who do you think is going to pay those taxes?
McCain sponsored a bill in 2004 for more regulation in FM and FM and the democrats blocked it.

I am 73 and terrified by the prospect of having an unqualified man being president along with his wanting to tax capitol gains more when that is what I expect to live on for the next 20 years. I have not been able to sleep since the stock market fell so much. How is Obama going to take care of all of the people like me when we don’t have our savings to live on any more after they are eaten up by taxes on this and other funds.

I could have written this, but I’m ONLY 72. Look at our situation from a bright side. After today’s market meltdown there will be nothing left to worry about. The kids won’t have to worry about their inheritance either and, most importantly, our respective estates will avoid death taxes.

Don’t count on Obama taking care of you - you have nothing left to be taxed. Go on Medicaid and adjust your life living on less.

Tylenol PM helps me sleep better. You ought to try it.

Here’s what I don’t understand: the government bails out Fannie and Freddy, who repackaged the sub-primes and sold them to banks, without tapping the taxpayers. Then, the government allows the banks to fail - the same banks that bought up the bad mortgages, but are the ones who loan money and keep the economy moving. Then we, the taxpayers, have to pump $700B into the economy to get the rest of the economy started again - because the remaining banks supposedly do not have money to lend. Couldn’t the middle man have been eliminated by allowing Freddy and Fannie to tank, hold the mortgages at the bank, and back the banks? It seems to me that these intermediary companies are the ones who profit on the shady deals, cause runaway inflation, allow speculation, create artificial demand which raises prices, etc. etc.

Any of you who read and studied Phylosophy should know what a sophist is. “Someone who is notorious for his clever but fallacious argument or form of reasoning intended to deceive”. Sen. Obama’s rhetoric reminds me of sophism. In ancient Greece, the sophists were teachers who used fallacious arguments or some form of reasoning, to deceive the people. This is exactly what Sen. Obama is doing to the american people, especially the gullible.

Any patriotic american, before going to the polls, should ascertain as to whom he/she is voting for. Any patriotic american should vote for a true patriot as president. Someone with a qestionable background should not be president of this powerful nation. Anyone with Obama’s rhetoric could be persuasive enough. But will he be able to accomplish his promises? I think he could bring more harm than good to this country.

If Fox posts this I commend you. I make over 250k a year and own a small business.

For someone is to say they will give the middle class a tax break and give them more money to spend
in my establishment that that is a bad thing you’re crazy.

The middle class are my customers and business is down. My business will make more money after the tax cut no question.

I will pay more taxes, but get more business.

Patriotism is sacraficing anything for your country. Some sacrafice thier lives. I will gladly pay that little bit more because I know that means the customers will spend more.

Trikle down tax cuts don’t get people hired of fired, it makes CEO’s buy more jewelry, ferraris and expensive dinners.

Bottom up economics helps people pay their bills, buy goods, buy gasoline, pay their mortgage and not foreclose and bring my house property down.

Its something to try. The bush tax cuts are not working right now. Everything he did should be reversed, that man has disgraced america to the world (bush)

McCain cannot win because he chose the wrong running mate. His greatest contribution was as potential commander of the armed forces, but after the spectacle Palin made of herself today, impetuously getting out of her SUV to shake hands in a crowd with the Secret Service running after her, no one in their right mind would want to take the chance that her decision-making involving the military might be just as impetuous and ill-communicated. Condoleeza Rice would have made a better, more stable choice if the Republicans had really wanted to win. It was tough there for a while to see Obama as the lesser of two evils, but the country cannot return to the Bush fiscal policies which have led to this disastrous week in history, and McCain has done nothing to separate himself from them except to call himself a maverick. He didn’t stand out much during the vote for the bailout. I wish it could be about Afghanistan and Iraq, even Iran and Israel, but our problems are too close to home to give McCain an edge.

I am both a Swedish and a UK citizen and like everyone in the rest of the world I have fingers crossed for an Obama win, however my reason for writing this is that I have just watched an Obama speech where he actually outlined policy in detail (i thought americans had stopped doing this 20 years ago!!) and it was extremely refreshing to see. It goes without saying I have not heard McCain do this once. The speech was on healthcare. Now I should say as a European who therefore has multiple EU coverages, ie, completely free for everything in the UK, nearly completely free in Sweden and completely free emergency operations anywhere in the EU, I am completely baffled as to why US has this bizarre system that sends people into insolvency just so they can have medical treatment, however Obama’s plan seemed sensible if incomplete (from a European perspective). Given that McCain has outlined no such plan I can only assume that people will vote for Obama on mass. Lets hope so!!! PS. What is with Sarah Palin: the winking, the staring directly into the camera all the time, the creationists views (wow do people believe that rubbish!!) and that wierd stepford wives folksyness? Imagine if she became president!!! I just want to add a note about trickle down economics…dont believe the hype, did you know that if american standards of living where the same today as the mid 50’s the minimum wage would be 200 dollars an hour!! All econmic growth that has seen growth societally wide, has been under regulations that have prohibited currency flight. This is an anathema to trickle down economics where deregulation works in the opposite way.

If you just look at the polls Obama and Biden clearly beat McCain Palin in the debates. Why try to deny the facts? Basically, McCain’s campaign is on its deathbed. It is time to look at 2012.

The American People are mad as H e l l about the deception and deliberate diluting of the magnitude of Obama’s despicable character, associations, actions, and agenda….by The Mainstream Media and The Democratic Party.

John McCain and Sarah Palin are telling it like it is…they are disclosing not only WHO Obama really is…they are hitting the Media for being deceptive in their moral responsibility to report the truth to The American Public.

When John McCain debates tonight…he will be speaking for the American Values…to The American People who believe in those values…and NOT to Marxists and Racists…who support intitlement values.

McCAIN and PALIN 08!!!!
God Blesses America.

All of you people who are still on the Ayers and other association kick just don’t get it….the American public for the most part doesn’t care. A poll done by Newsweek magazine showed that 63% of people DO NOT CARE AND FIND THIS STUFF TO NOT IMPORTANT!!!!. Face it, McCain has nothing of substance to offer or run on, so this is what we are left with. I would of voted for McCain in 2000, but would never even think about it now…he is a shadow of his former self and Palin isn’t experienced or fit to run a day care!

Christopher, you’re no help. If you’re a Republican, what are you trying to do at this point? What’s your deal? Did you get passed over for a job in the McCain campaign or what?

The mainstream media has put Obama where he is by failing to tell his real story: that he was funded by rich liberals in Chicago, assisted by people like Tony Rezco who is going to jail for various frauds and worked closely with admitted anti-American William Ayers. And all of this passing over (as if we’re beyond it) the question of how we could elect a President who was willing to listen to 20 years of Jeremiah Wright’s venom.

If the American people cannot make an intelligent choice between a proven hero and a well-spoken demagogue, then I guess we deserve what we get. God help us.

May Americans of goodwill who will fight for a Culture of Life stand up while there’s still time.

About 28 days and counting.

John McCain needs a lot more than a win in a debate. I like John, but his choice for Vice President has put a pall over his sinking campaign. Sarah Palin has derailed a once hopeful candidate.

Comment by Joyce Slaughter

Senator MacCain needs to tell the people he will fight for them with the enthusiasm shown at the convention.

Comment by keith

Ayers is just a past association. Who cares?! I am sure if the tables were turned and McCain had been shown to worked even loosly with Adolf Hitler then CBS, NBC, ABC would dismiss it. YA RIGHT!

Gary’s Comment is:

Sen. Mc Cain needs to do alot, and everything needs to go his way. Will that happen? I don’t think
so. Sen. Mc Cain in the last 17 plus months has shown all his best stuff, right up to putting in Sarah
Palin as VP. In my view he is “Toast”. By going into the negitive and wanting to get off the money
problems of America tells me he has no answers left. Its kindda sad, like watching a ship sink very
slowly.

We will see how the debate goes tonight, but I think Mc Cain & Palin are already sunk, they just have
not gone under as of yet.

I travelled to Kenya a few months ago. It was a life changing experience, to see how deeply entrenched Obama is in that culture. The billboard, the pictures of Obama on the sides of buses. Now, today, the deportation of an anti-Obama journalist. Something stinks and its funded by foreign dollars via difficult to trace internet payments.

I have to believe that America will, when push comes to shove, turn their back on a socialist agenda at all costs. I have to believe that they will, when push comes to shove, demand complete and thorough vetting of all candidates. I have to believe that they will, when push comes to shove, inspect the candidates verifiable records and realze how filthy the DNC’s hands are in the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae debacle.

If that vetting lets some uglies out of the closet, then good for America, irregardless of which campaign it sticks to. But continuing to shove the dirt under the rug is getting really old, really fast.

And I will not be told by our “media” how to think or vote on any issue, much less one of this importance.

The winner of tonights debate, and the last debate, and the next debate and the VP debate will be seen in November on election day. I honestly believe that people who do polling manipulate the polls in a way to sway voters. No one wants to vote for a loser so the polls always start out with one candidate winning then swings to the other (unless it’s obvious that one is WAY ahead - Reagan and Mondale.) Back and forth. The Liberals say the Democrat won and the moderate to conservative say the Republicans won. Who cares what others think. Please, just sit back, enjoy the debate and let your conscience guide you on election day. That is the day we will see who won the debate that actually counts. Remember “Dewey Defeats Truman”

I believe that Gov. Palin and Sen McCain represent my values and ideas for a better America. I am voting for them. I am one vote and one voice. And so are you. VOTE!!!!

Vote Your Conscience

I’m a Vietnam veteran and if I am going to trust anyone to be the best president then McCain is my choice. I don’t trust Obama or the people he is connected to. I suggest that both parties discontinue the mudslinging as nobody cares for such behavior. I want to hear facts not accusations. I’ll read what I need to cast my vote: I don’t need Obama or McCain to decide that for me.

Concerned Voter

Scary Thought for the Day:

Sadly, as for all of us, one day McCain will die.

What if he wins the election, and his passing occurs while still in the white house.

The result: Sarah Palin is President of the United States of America!

Keep at it polls are skewed. whos going to say im not voting for the black guy. Only men and women with backbone would stand and say he has no substance. obama is the least experinced of all candidates and we ask is sasrah palin on day one. Let me say LOUD AND CLEAR OBAMA IS NOT READY TO LEAD ANYTHING ESPECIALLY THIS GREA TNATION THAT LETS YOU BACK AN UNQUALIFIED CANDIDATE

Agreeing with Lanny Davis & Angela McGlowan on Fox News comments today -
McCain should go after Obama’s voting record with specifics (not so much personally) but his VOTING record AND the LACK of voting input during the time the taxpayers sent him to represent their interests but he co
