I watched the second debate and noticed a major blunder by Obama. He made the usual statement ( for the 1,000th time ) that Prez Bush made a big
mistake by invading Iraq and not staying focused on Afghanistan. During the next round of questioning Obama completely contradicted himself by saying
that the USA should use military intervention in cases of genocide, such as Darfur or Kosovo or to establish democracies and take down evil dictators.
Wasn’t there GENOCIDE in Iraq by Saddam and wasn’t he an evil dictator with WMD and a “Clear and Present Danger” to the USA and his own people
as well as a threat to vital oil interest’s and stability in the middle east ? How can he be for intervention in Darfur or Kosovo due to GENOCIDE and almost
in the same breath belittle Prez Bush for his vital intervention in Iraq ? How is he able to get off the hook when his contradictions are spoken almost in the
same breath ? Did he forget the GENOCIDE by Saddam against the KURDS….. with chemical weapons ?

I am just a poor ole’ retired school teacher from WV. Will someone please explain to me why the media is making so much fuss about Gov. Palin’s remark “six-pack joe”, but never refer to the fact that Sen. Obama KEEPS bringing up (or is it bragging?) the fact that he is the son of a poor, single mother.
My appalachain heritage might be laughed at by VP Chaney, but here we see too many single mothers and certainly we do not flaunt it. We would hope to get back to the traditional married before child planning. And why can the media ask any question of Gov. Palin, but most (especailly personal ones) are off limits Any hard working man will hope for a six pack handy after working so hard.
Also, tonight in the debate , I seemed to detect some defiance from Obama about staying within the time limit. When Tom Brockow called him on this, he just seemed to back-talk like a difiant student in school might. (eg. “Just trying to keep up with John”. Is he on a mission already to “Keep Even”???

Clearly, John McCain won the debate. He has so much more experience and can “‘Peek around the corners at the enemy”. He knows how real people hurt at times and that a six pack helps.

The more I hear Obama’s words the more they appear to have come from McCain first. This guy changes his spiel like a chameleon changes colors. I thought he came across as “preachy” and talking “campaign points” a lot in his answers. Through both Presidential debates at this point I think John McCain has come across the most experienced and, YES, the steadiest man for the job. Why is it so hard to just answer the questions without Bureaucratic Semantics (B.S. for short)? I mean, if I were faced with the same questions, how hard would it be for a simple answer like “Shop for oil overseas like we shop for the best deals here. If Saudi wil give us oil for a cheaper price than China, we’ll buy “X” amount from them in this quarter. If China is behaving unethically, then we don’t buy from them in this quarter. We then take the 50+ Billion saved and put 25B into researching and developing alternative fuels, then pass the rest on to the public in the form of reduced gas prices.”

It just depresses me when I hear both candidates BS a 1 minute answer with 3 minutes of fingerpointing and backtracking. If neither candidate can follow the rules under pressure with 1 person asking the questions, how are we supposed to trust them not to BS their way through all of us directing their conduct??

A good closing speech could have been:

“Here’s the deal America, we have so little transparency in government that it raises more questions than viable solutions. Since we’re all in this together, you must help us be part of the solution; but the only way you can be part of that solution is if our government trusts YOU! We NEED to let you know that we need to spend a bunch of money to keep up foreign relations and be a part of world stability, but we NEED to tell you why. We need to have our parties NOT reach across the aisle to tell the “other side” why their ideas will go wrong, nor should we accuse the other side of how their failure got us into this mess. We need to come together and answer the bigger question of “How” rather than “Why”.”

obama followed the devil (all his bad friends, and mentors) to get what ever he wanted!

Someone needs to tell McCain the country is about to collapse financially and this is not the time to start his career as a stand up comedian( He is not funny, He is not Presidentual). I support McCain/Palin because I believe they have REAL experience with settling issues and the seniority that gives wisdom in making decisions critical to our future, It makes me nervous to think of what America would be like under the reigns of Obama.

John McCain is definitely winning. He has my vote. Very sincere and concerned about Americans. Barrack not knowledgeable enough for my vote. I trust McCain with my money. Barrack has proven to be greedy and hangs out with terrorists. Ayers is a bad man and should be taken care of.
