Let’s Get Real: Judge Obama by the Company He Keeps

I wish the tone of this campaign were different and it might have been if Obama had accepted McCain’s offer months ago to do 10 town hall meetings around the country. But Obama chose otherwise. His problem is that he is trying to portray himself as something he is not (moderate and mainstream) while portraying McCain as something he is not (out of touch and uncaring).

One can be known in part by the company one keeps. William Ayers is not somebody who just did evil things when Obama was eight years old.

They have an adult relationship and Ayers has been a booster of Obama’s and they have worked together on “education issues” in Chicago.

Let’s have some perspective here. What do you suppose the mainstream media reaction would be had McCain been associated with an abortion clinic bomber? You know what it would have been. The big media would be editorializing that McCain was not fit to be president. But Obama can associate with a man who belonged to Weatherman, a Communist-driven splinter faction of Students for a Democratic Society. Characterizing Weatherman as “an American Red Army,” Ayers summed up the organization’s ideology as follows: “Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, Kill your parents.” He has never apologized for those remarks or said he has a different world view today.

As recently as 2001, Ayers said America makes him “want to puke.” Nice.

Ayers boasts that he “participated in the bombings of New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, of the Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972.” Of the day he bombed the Pentagon, Ayers says, “Everything was absolutely ideal. … The sky was blue. The birds were singing. And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them.”

The Obama campaign says if the McCain campaign continues to dredge-up Ayers, they will start mentioning Charles Keating and McCain’s association with the savings and loan scandal of the 1980s and early 90s.

After a lengthy investigation, the Senate Ethics Committee determined in 1991 that Alan Cranston, Dennis DeConcini, and Donald Riegle (all Democrats) had substantially and improperly interfered with the FHLBB in its investigation of Lincoln Savings, with Cranston receiving a formal reprimand. Senators John Glenn (a Democrat) and John McCain (the lone Republican) were cleared of having acted improperly but were criticized for having exercised “poor judgment”.

McCain long ago apologized for his poor judgment. We await a similar confession from William Ayers and his candidate for president, Barack Obama.

I want to reply to this comment, “Andy Merkel said 1 hour ago:
We fought the cold war against Russia for how many years. Money, effort, etc. And now the unintelligent pro NOBAMA voters want to put a communist in office. There will be a revolution. Anyone wanting a free ride in this county will vote for NOBAMA.”
_________

As someone that spent 30 years as a Humanitarian Aid Relief Coordinator and Educator for First Responders…this has allowed me entrance into numerous nations across four continents.

The individual that made the above comment has no clue what communism is like…and to call Senator Obama a communist allows this lack of knowledge to be glaringly obvious. He then states, …”there will be a revolution.” This is very reminiscent of the attitude of the late 60’s. Keep fanning the flames of anger and division and you will become part of the problem…NOT the solution.

To further state that those voting for Senator Obama as “untelligent”…goes against RNC statements…especially regarding Gov Palin (”…she appeals to the less educated…”) Please, do a fact check. It will serve you well.

It’s usually the ones that boast such claims as the above individual…that sit securely within their safe harbors and never venture past their one borders.

Folks, I am an Obama supporter. I generally do vote Democratic but have been known to buck that when I see fit. (Ironically, the John McCain before he got this nomination used to be one of my favorite Republicans.)

I’ve been tuned in to every step of this election process for almost a year and a half. I atke the privelege of my vote very seriously. I’m not brainwashed, I’m not delusional, and I’m not a screaming liberal who can’t see both sides.

If I had to say in two words why I support Sen. Obama it comes down to: intelligence and judgment. I’ve soaked up copious amounts of information on views, voting records, rationale behind statements and votes, visions for the future, and so on. For me, Sen. Obama is not only my choice in this election he is the single best candidate for any office I have ever known. I find him brilliant, courageous, visionary, inspiring, wise, and honorable. These are qualities I want in my president.

I know many out there will not understand my decision. Fine by me. As long as a voter does their very best to ascertain what factors are truly important to them, and then does the necessary work to make the choice that is right for them, I support whatever choice you make.

I only write this to tell you straight out, some of you who ask: I love my country. I am every single bit as aware of the issues, the unfortunate distractions, the character, the destiny of our great country, and what will lead us to a future that is more prosperous and filled with opportunity and freedom for all of us than we have ever known. EVERY BIT AS AWARE AS YOU. I’m excited! And I choose Sen. Obama.

For those outthere who want real information that is NOT biased to EITHER party or candidate, visit http://www.factcheck.org/

This site is non-partisan and has tons of useful information about the actual issues and the various claims both candidates make. Neither candidate comes out smelling like a rose. (As with most elections, both sides are guilty of some fibbing and truth stretching.)

But it lays out what the claim or issue is, the background, the facts (with citations of all the sources!), and a “verdict” at the end of what it all means.

This is truly a greater voter resource. Another is http://www.taxpolicycenter.org/

Vote smart. Vote informed.

To “Kathy” who thinks Obama is a terrorist, your post has to be the single dumbest thing I have heard in this entire campaign season. I can’t decide which it is more wrought with: ignorance or paranoia. Probably ignorance. Lady, crawl back into your hole of stupidity and let thinking, reading, debating, educated people of this great country cast their votes intelligently.

Ayers wanted teachers trained to instruct against “oppression” and to push schoolchildren towards political beliefs Ayers valued — apparently valuing them higher than actual education. Barack Obama agreed, and for several years worked in close partnership with Ayers to implement that educational policy. Even had Ayers never tossed a single bomb, this kind of educational philosophy would likely raise eyebrows with most parents, who desire a real education for their children and not some sort of political indoctrination camp. With the context of Ayers’ violent radicalism, however, it makes the CAC even worse — a breeding ground for future Weathermen, ready to follow Ayers’ lead when the time comes for the revolution that Ayers and his wife (and co-terrorist) Bernardine Dohrn to this day desire.

Don’t get me wrong, now that Obama has entered politics, he’s one, too, but c’mon Ayers?, jeez, get over it.

To Whom it may concern,

I am just a mom in an averaage American home. I am a registered nurse. I have two children. And this election seems to be so swayed by the journalist. I am not sure who to beleive when I read the newspaper or listen to the news. I think both parties try to split this nation, and they do it by unfair means. Although, our country is so young, so many people from all over the world want to live here. Yes, England makes fun of us, as do many other places in the world. But it is amazing that our Forfathers that wrote the constitution, the Gettysburg Address, and many other reforms, like Abraham Lincoln were able to see what we have lost our vision from. As young as we are compared to other countries, Men, women, and children suffered, fought, and had the ideas to change what they suffered, to perhaps form a government, that would be as fair as could be. Yet, throughout our growth as a nation, we have made many mistakes, and it has taken us a long time to figure it out, but I believe with all my heart, many Americans want fair treatment of all people. There are people here in America and everywhere else that have people that see the world in the small scope of predjudice, but I beieive there are many people all over the world, that really want to live in peace and acceptance, without hatred. Although, I sound naive, I have spoken to many people, including people that have special clearance, that President Bush made major mistakes with Iran. It is not difficult to figure out the middle east has been fighting for Centuries, and Isreal is the most fought over piece of real estate in the world. I think we all matter in the eyes of God, and it is how we take all this information, and learn to live with one another, that really makes sense. Who is the answer to this question, I do not know, but we are so well connected why can we not really learn from each culture, and work from there?

Sincerely,
Bernadette Alcaraz

i’m sorry, but obama is no different than any other liberal. the only reason he has gotten this far is because he is a black guy in a suit. He barely has no experience. Being this so called “social organizer” means he took grants from the government to throw it away instead of using it on something useful. I think he really wants to replace that U.S. flag pin with one of his hammer and sickle red pins

Comment by kpsilverman

So your logic is that since Obama did not accept McCain’s lame calls for town hall meetings, his only possible response was to make unfounded attacks on his character and pray the country is racist enough to hold on to them as truth?

The fact is that McCain “palled around with” convicted criminals Charles Keating and G. Gordon Liddy, was in the middle of the S&L scandal, the Iran-Contra affairs, so on and so on. And I haven’t even gotten into Palin and her ties to the Alaskan Independence Party that supported using force against the US government and collaborated with the Iranian government. You, sir, are bordering on crimes against your country by having any part in trying to get this criminal ticket elected.

Below is a reprint of “Sick of it’s” post. He / she has encapsulated this entire process in this post. Everyone should digest this because it the truth. The only silver lining that I can see if we end up with Obama is that the balance of power in Congress will change quickly in the opposite direction.

Subject: 7 1/2 years of George Bush

TO ALL MY FRIENDS….LIBERAL OR CONSERVATIVE..

George Bush has been in office for 7 1/2 years. The first six the economy was fine.

A little over one year ago:

1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;

2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;

3) the unemployment rate was 4.5%.

4) the DOW JONES hit a record high–14,000 +

5) American’s were buying new cars, taking cruises, vacations overseas, living large!…

But American’s wanted ‘CHANGE’! So, in 2006 they voted in a Democratic Congress

and yes–we got ‘CHANGE’ all right. In the PAST YEAR:

1) Consumer confidence has plummeted ;

2) Gasoline is now over $4 a gallon & climbing!;

3) Unemployment is up to 5.5% (a 10% increase);

4) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $12 TRILLION DOLLARS and prices still dropping;

5) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

6) as I write, THE DOW is probing another low~~

$2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS HAS EVAPORATED FROM THEIR STOCKS, BONDS & MUTUAL FUNDS INVESTMENT

PORTFOLIOS!

YES, IN 2006 AMERICA VOTED FOR CHANGE…AND WE SURE GOT IT! …..

REMEMBER THE PRESIDENT HAS NO CONTROL OVER ANY OF THESE ISSUES, ONLY CONGRESS.

AND WHAT HAS CONGRESS DONE IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

NOW THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT CLAIMS HE IS GOING TO

REALLY GIVE US CHANGE ALONG WITH A DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS!!!!

JUST HOW MUCH MORE ‘CHANGE’ DO YOU THINK YOU CAN STAND?

i would never judge YOU by the company you keep. in fact, i would do my darndest not to JUDGE you at all. for who am i to judge you? do you have secret things you do behind closed doors, have you ever made a mistake, are you perfect?

none of us are perfect. none of us are all-seeing so why should we judge one another?

furthermore, you probably keep company with some of the most narrow minded conservatives or maybe your daddy is a racist … should i judge you by your racist daddy? maybe your wife is scared of gay people … should i judge you by the company you keep? maybe your son is gay … should i judge you as a person who goes against the bible (not that i truly believe being gay goes against the bible) … maybe your children had babies out of wedlock like sarah palin … should i judge you for the company you keep with your own children … maybe george bush was friends with ken delay … did you judge him by the company he kept?

if we continue to judge others … eventually all of us will be lacking … even you …

do you judge yourself? i am sorry if you do …. i am sorry to read that judging people is still so stylish in 2008. cuz it gets us nowhere.

Ayers? Rezko? They don’t hold a candle to Keating.
John McCain family-vacationed with Keating, a convicted criminal who cost the US taxpayers over $ 3 billion.
He also took campaign support and tried to intervene on his behalf during the senate investigation.
McCain admits it was poor judgement.

8 years of Republican dominated government in the White House, in Congress and in the Supreme Court.

Lack of leadership (Bush)
Poor judgement (Iraq)
Incompetence (Katrina)
Corruption (DeLay, Abramoff)
Misinterpretation of the constitution (Cheney’s role of VP, Torture-Guantanomo, wire-tapping)
Partisan warfare (Prosecutor firings, Scooter Libby pardon)
Excessive greed (record oil corp profits)
International embarassement (Colin Powell presentation of flawed intelligence to the UN which humiliated US Intelligence, Abu Graib)
Financial Disaster (collapse of Wall Street)
the list won’t end until January when we swear in a new president.

How could ANYONE vote GOP in this election? I will vote Democrat across the board just to ensure a big change in DC– it doesn’t even matter who’s running because the GOP have been SO BAD.

And to those comments blaming the financial crisis on Barney Frank, the Clinton Administration and/or the homeowners who defaulted on their loans… what an example of pathetic ignorance (or truly evil propaganda). We had similar (albeit smaller than $700 Billion+) problems back in Reagan & Bush I where all this mess started– deregulation and huge deficits lead to many bank failures in the late 80s (with McCain and his pal Keating in the middle of one of them).

GOP strategy: tax cuts for the rich, scaremongering for the stupid, preemptive accusations, character assassination.

This works well on mal-informed, scared and stubborn people– hey they voted for Bush twice!

Time to wake up and wise up before it really is too late.

Comment by Sherry from Illinois

Why do people think that character isn’t an issue. Let’s not even look at the relationship between Obama and Ayers but rather look at fellow Illinois Democrats that put Obama where he is today.

Governor Rod Blagojevich of Illinois has literally strip-mined the financial economy of the State of Illinois. Blagojevich is a Chicago Democrat that has stolen every dime out of state pensions, the state budget and the pockets of hard working Illinoisans. Blagojevich took office and immediately move the Governor’s office from Springfield to Chicago. Blagojevich’s money-maker, Tony Rezko, was found guilty of breaking numerous campaign financing laws. Oh, and who else did he swindle money for…..Obama. Then there is Emil Jones, another Chicago Democrat and buddy of Blagojevich, that for years has run the Illinois State Senate and was a political surrogant father of then State Senator Barack Obama. Emil Jones recently stepped out of the political arena because of the black cloud forming over the “Chicago Democratic Machine”. He is so close to Obama that I’m guessing he (or his wife) will get some cush six figure position in Obama’s administration, just like his wife got in Blagojevich’s administration.

So here are Obama’s 3 closest Illinois Democratic confidants. I don’t know about you, but you can sure tell a little bit about my personal character by the people that are closest to me……I guess Americans don’t mind that Obama will strip-mine the country’s finances, move the President’s office to Chicago and give all his friends and their wives jobs whether they are qualified or not.

God Bless America because if Obama is our next President, we will certainly need it. Signed, a Republican patriot

Hey Carlos:
Early in the campaign, why should McCain have wasted his limited campaign funds going after Obama and his unlimited funds when Clinton was doing it herself? Why don’t people believe what Clinton was saying? What is the great fear in knowing the truth about Obama? Obama has made a campaign of telling people what they should think to the point that common sense of many has fallen by the wayside. Have you ever thought you wanted something or someone so much that you were unable to see any flaws? Then, as time passes, things just don’t look or sound the same anymore. We elect presidents, not dictators, and presidents don’t have the power to snap their fingers and make houses, cash, and healthcare land on everyone’s doorstep. Look at the people that Obama mentions in his memoir as having greatly influenced him. For example, Du Bois, a proponent of socialism who was even a prominent member of The Communist Party USA. Look up the CPUSA, read their agenda, compare it to Obama’s propositions. While you’re at it, check out the “Talented Tenth.” It is the proposition that only the smart, successful people (perhaps smart Harvard alumni types) really count. It encourages abortion and sterilization for those the elite determine to be poor underachievers (like the majority of Americans) who are seen as a drain on the system. As for Obama’s promise that 95% will get tax relief–I believe 30% of Americans don’t pay taxes anyway. All I am asking is for everyone to listen with open ears and don’t allow yourself to be ‘okeydoked’ into agreeing. If you do, don’t complain when you are ‘bamboozled’ and waiting for the Obama Nation to throw you some crumbs. Just some things to think about.

Comment by ClassyMomma

Just remember that because Obama is a smooth talker, that doesn’t mean he’ll be a good president. And just because McCain is not as smooth and polished does not mean he’ll make a lousy president. Let’s look beyond the surface, folks. We should be adult enough to realize that how a candidate looks and talks is not what matters. It is the substance, the fiber behind the man, that will make or break him. Experience does matter. Talk does not.

Get a life, Tired of the Lies! You make Ayers sound so sweet that maybe you would let him babysit your children or grandchildren, huh? And, the truth is, John McCain was found innocent of any wrongdoing and was only cited for having exercised “poor judgment”. It’s truly amazing how innocent you find Obama to be (as well as Ayers) and yet McCain caused the meltdown of the S & L industry. Like all democrats, you may be tired of the lies, but you lie just as easily as Obama does.

I think Obama’s association goes far beyond apologies. Let’s face it if the media had done their job we wouldn’t be watching an Obama/McCain debate. It would be a Clinton/McCain debate. The american people would never have nominated someone that’s friends with so many anti-american people. Would Obama be able to get a top security clearance in a private company?

It saddens me that so many people can sit and watch Obama lie about his connections. Logic tells you he knew who Ayers was. It’s obvious to anyone that has a minister that Obama knew what Wright believes. It was obvious to Oprah…why not Obama? There are many more interesting connections. McCain NEEDS to try to bring this up. The media won’t so McCain has to be the bad guy. McCain also needs to address the real cause of the current economic crisis…that won’t be pretty for the Dems

Obama won’t be sitting down with Iran to say please please…let’s be friends.

He is ONE of them and he will be rejoicing…he will say….everything was in front of your AMERICAN EYES to see and you did not believe (Change we can BELIEVE IN)….just like the World Trade Center Bombing..warned and did not HEED…YOU AMERICANS ARE SO DUMB AND PATHETIC…did you really think I spent 20 years attending Rev Wright’s Church and did not know what REV WRIGHT taught? Did you really think my years as a Community Organizer were not connected to teaching radical views for oppressing whites/Americans? Did you see improvement in Illionois, under my watch, for the poor? How did you really think that I paid for my Havard degree…oh yeah student loans, not Terrorist funded. Did you really think that my connections with known terrorist AYERS were “just neighbors…oh yeah and I forgot one BIG Political Party AT AYERS HOME”? Even when contributions between Ayers & I were linked and those funds channeled into radical organizations promoting oppression of whites were shown by FOXNEWS, all I had to do was to give you some more sugar, EMPTY WORDS. claiming smears and not staying on script with the issues…for my plan of CHANGE WE NEED
AMERICANS chose to listen to my WORDS and pay NO attention to my ACTIONS/DEEDS. Come on now little ones you chose my BLUE PRINT FOR CHANGE…live & die by it, okay so you had to read between the lines a little to come up with the plan I am using now….such whiners.

Hello, I want to hear what is to be done about “credit default swaps” (see 60 min.) & how this unregulated wall street fiasco is going to be fixed. According to 60 min., TRILLONS, not billions, but TRILLIONS of dollars are involved here, & it is at the heart of the crisis. Also, I would like to hear someone who is not arrogant with some diplomatic common sense who would stop talking down to all the other nations. We don’t want other people telling us what to do so we shouldn’t talk so arrogantly to other nations. Lastly, I would like govt. to offer up a reward to the private sector for anyone who can use American ingenuity to overcome our oil addiction. The fed govt can’t do it because they are so incompetent….just look at the president & congresses ratings, but they could provide a stimulus, no taxes plus a monetary reward to push for better engines, a cleaner more efficient fuel, etc. Thank you for listening to Bukki.

Obama offers promisses and promisses. He gives excellent speeches and makes people believe he will be a president you can count on and who will take care of the interests of every American. A big government, a strong bureaucracy will bring happy times. He will talk with foreign countries that are not interested in the safety of the US and only will ask for financial support. And what did he show as a senator? What principles did he use in his voting in the senate to bring change ? Its an empty story. His plans benefit only groups who see government money and chances to get influence. Voters who are still not convinced should listen to Joe Bidens advice a few months ago when he declared in a debate on tv that Obama is simply not ready yet to become president.

When this election is over, we will still have the financial disaster to deal with — a disaster that was caused by members of both parties. No matter who wins, about 49% of us will feel marginalized, disenfranchised, and discouraged. Like all-too-few of those who have entered comments here, I am deeply worried about the rancor — even hatred — that exists among us. We can pull together, or we will be pulled apart. I think there will be terrible times ahead, no matter who wins. I hope we will vote for the person who is most likely to get us through those terrible times in the least injurious way. The heads of government and industry have made a fine mess for our grandchildren to inherit. It is time for self-sacrifice, sobriety, and rational thinking. Can you support your candidate based on his qualifications without saying one mean thing about his opponent? If you can’t, please shut the hell up. Thank you.

You can go back to when Obama was 8 yrs old if you would like. But frankly I and the American People are not concerned with what Obama or McCain did when they were children. What McCain did when he was 2 is his business!!

This is nothing but character assasination. The same type of fear tactic that the Republicans are known for.

Stick to the issues. If you can’t play with the big doggs… go sit with the puppies!!

In order to attack someones character they must first have a character. Obama is a fraud and a charlatan. and I am sticking to issues. I wouldn’t one of these people running this country.
With Obamas, Rev. Wright, William Ayers Fr. Pfleger, Larry Sinclair, Alice Palmer, Official Blogger Sam Graham-Felsen, Kalihdi, Joseph Cirincione and an all time Jimmy Carter favorite, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Axelrod, Samantha “Sam” Power (oh! she was fired, waiting in the wings with Wright). I could go on and on, but you delusional Obama lovers deserve what you get, but I don’t want my family and fellow country loving Americans to suffer the consequences of these anti-Americans he seems to admire and follow…

The real travesty is the corruption in our television and print media. The fact they have become so biased in their reporting will be the downfall of this nation. If the people get lied to by the very people who bring the news, it’s over.

Get out of debt. Owe no one.

You’re right. We should judge all politicians by the company they keep. Lets start shall we?

Ever hear of a guy named G. Gordon Liddy? He’s a convicted terrorist from the Nixon era, and a big time supporter of John McCain. For the record, despite what comes out of his mouth, Ayers was never convicted of a crime. Ever hear of a guy named Todd Palin? He’s a card carrying member of a party that advocates that Alaska should separate from the union. Last I heard, calling for secession was at the very least, unpatriotic.

So yeah, let’s judge them all by the company that they keep.

Cal Thomas article is very good. However, Mccain has got to be very aggresive on showing the public all the charactor and judgement flaws that makes Obama who he really is. Obama will have his answers, but Mccain needs to be ready to address Obamas answers. If the main stream news media had done their job properly, Mccain would be ahead in the polls 15-20%. Actually if the main stream media had done their job and exposed Obamas poor charactor and judgement, he would not have gotten the Dem. nomination.

I suppose that George Bush’s lack of action before and after Katrina is a Democrats fault too

Or how about this.

I suppose it was a Democrat administration that mislead (quite frankly lied) about the need to wage a war in Iraq…. How much have we spent in Iraq? Oh yeah half a TRILLION dollars, expected to be over a TRILLION before it is over. … Oops Im sorry …half a TRILLION dollars and 4,179 American youngsters who blindly and courageously followed Goerge Bush’s into a un-righteous war. Over 50,000 Iraqi deaths. What could we have done with that money and American youth?

I guess it was a Democratic administration who sanctioned and promoted the use of TORTURE against ALLEGED “enemy combatants”….. very Christ like there. Americans, Torture…. my god! save us.

I guess it has nothing to do with George Bush, SEC Head Cox, and Republican Law makers that we have another whopping wealth disparity between rich and poor. I guess Cox didnt have anything to do with stripping regulation that allowed large corporations to set up headquarters in the cayman islands to dodge federal taxes.

Republicans may not be the sole fire starter in this economic mess, but they didnt exactly run for the hoses. They poored gas on it instead.

Give up… Republicans have done a terrible job. I dont believe they are going to do a better job this time.

oh, and 5 points for the first democratic nitwit who can tell me what:

a. deregulation means (no cheating)
b. how Obummer is gonna save the “poor, poor soldiers” when he plans pulling them out of Iraq and moving them to Afganistan.
c. why Obummer hasn’t abandoned his unrealistic and fiscally dangerous economic policies and social programs when confronted by the current failing economy? but hey, 95% of us are gonna get tax cuts? how exactly does that work?
d. why the $250,000 cap on salaries? what if i want to become rich someday? am i supposed to be punished for having aspirations? oh, a capital gains tax too? i guess i can’t invest in the failing Stock Market either!

ah hell, id go on but i know no one will read this…at least not those that need to.

I love the “Obama is an elitest” line. Just for once in this great nation can’t we try electing the smart guy that went to Harvard over the guy you would like to have a beer with that graduated 894th out of 899 in Annapolis naval academy?

McCain wreaks of desperation with these new attacks. His campaign has been poorly managed from the start vs. Obama. The time for those types of attacks (Aires, Wright) would be at the beginning when Obama was trying to introduce and define himself and not now with only weeks to go. Not only did McCain not attack early on he critisized his own party when they ran Rev. Wright ads. Now he is trying to do what he had condemed earlier but it is too little.. too late… With all of this flipping, flopping, and flailing I am more concerend with who the real John McCain is than who is the real Barack Obama :).

We need to get off the mud slinging and back to the issues and put this country first! Hey, that sounds like a nice campaign slogan..

Neither of these candidates scares me nearly as much as the polarization of Americans in this presidential race. One of these men is going to be our next president and I think either one of the them would do their very best to lead this country - of course we have our own opinions on how they should lead - but regardless - one of them is going to be our next president and what he will need is our support and our prayers. Our nation is facing an extremely difficult time with our economy, along with many other serious issues - and I will pray for our president, our nation and the American people!

Ayers and several others served on a not-for-profit board to reform Chicago schools. Obama was one of them. Ayers is a professor of English at a well-known University. He used to be a radical. Obama didn’t know Ayers when Ayers was a radical; Obama was only 8 at the time. He’s never helped Ayers’ former radicalism.

Those are the facts.

In exchange for campaign contributions, McCain and 4 other senators used their power to help keep the Savings and Loan industry in particular and Keating’s S&L in particular sheltered from regulation. The end result was the collapse of that financial industry and millions of Americans losing their life savings and requiring billions of dollars in bail-out money. The Senate investigated and reprimaneded McCain for his involvement.

Those are also the facts.

Many Chicago politicians, including Republicans, “palled” around with Ayers, so can we finally put this stupidity to rest and concentrate on the real issues effecting this country?

“It was never a concern by any of us in the Chicago school reform movement that he had led a fugitive life years earlier,” said former Illinois state Republican Rep. Diana Nelson, who worked with both Obama and Ayers over the years. “It’s ridiculous. There is no reason at all to smear Barack Obama with this association. It’s nonsensical, and it just makes me crazy. It’s so silly.”

The company one keeps is not necessarily reflective of their beliefs. I’ll paraphrase from “Ridicule”: Judas kept excellent company. (And in consideration of Judas, Jesus kept particularly lousy company.)

Jack Cashill is a Author/Producer: He is investigating, another tie to Obama..Also Obama wrote a dedication in a children’s book Ayers wrote. Now is this something you do for someone you barely know?

Jack Cashill believes that Bill Ayers, unrepentant terrorist, Weatherman and current professor of education (!), wrote Barack Obama’s memoir Dreams of My Father, and has written a three-part article to outline his theory.

Following is Part I: Did Bill Ayers write Obama’s “Dreams”? of the series.

“I picture the street coming alive, awakening from the fury of winter, stirred from the chilly spring night by cold glimmers of sunlight angling through the city.” Bill Ayers, Fugitive Days.

“Night now fell in midafternoon, especially when the snowstorms rolled in, boundless prairie storms that set the sky close to the ground, the city lights reflected against the clouds.” Barack Obama, Dreams From My Father.
**
Also to those who seem to be repeating your Obama chant: He was only 8 years old when Ayers was so radical. Save it! Ayers is the same today as he was in the 60’s, only now he’s teaching children his anarchist rant instead of blowing up buildings…

I can’t believe how many mantra uttering brain washed people think that Republicans caused the financial problems. OK GET IT STRAIGHT..
A Candidate can say whatever he wants.. But you discern who a man is by the company he keeps, and by the record of his past. Unless Obama is claiming to be suddenly REFORMED he is the same as those he “respected most”. Including the Terrorist, Radical Pastor, other Radical hate mongering people. and his record of supporting people who by and large caused our financial problems today.

Clinton Passed the “give everyone who can’t pay their bills a house” law and the Democrats have been supporting it for many years, even fighting the bill McCain co-sponsored to get control of these companies. So now the “give everyone who can’t pay their bills a house” law has caused dire consequences to each and every one of us, and Obama says it’s the republicans fault? Since when did Clinton become republican, or Obama for that matter? Since he voted against controlling these bohemouths. Can Americans be so blind that they cant see. Or is it Ostrich approach where they WON’T see. When your head comes out of the sand I hope you will recognize the former USA because it will look like the CUSA Comunist United States of America. And all the little lemings will need to bury their heads in the sand because they can’t bear to look.
WE HAD BETTER TAKE A LOOK NOW BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE.
