I wrote this email to my elected Member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Bennie Thompson back in April. He did not respond.

14 April 2008

Dear Congressman Thompson:

I have a problem and I'd like your opinion. We both know that the National Debt is so high that we cannot easily quantify how many Trillions of Dollars adequately express the amount. It is no closely guarded secret that the Federal and State Governments spend copious amounts of money in untold programs to support illegal aliens. Illegal aliens are, in fact criminals. Aren't they? If not, what does "illegal" mean? My tax burden is not much different than any other Americans, horrific.

I could write endless paragraphs outlining what money is being spent on which programs, the unbelievable amounts of drugs that come over the Rio Grand, how many convicts in our Federal and State prisons our “Ostrich Policy” of border security has burdened the penal system with. You and I, and America all know these facts.

Here is my question:

Why have all of our elected officials inside the Beltway not just ignored this problem for many decades, but actually condoned this remarkably expensive, socially devastating situation? Any Senator or Congressman now sitting in office beyond their freshman term should be voted out of office just based on this one single issue. This myriad of societal dilemmas is entirely the direct result of intentional inaction in Congress. It is time for the truth.

What say you?

(Signature Block)

Neither he nor my Senators resopnded to this email. Imagine that...

A rational person must ask, "Why didn't our elected government build this wall decades ago?" The answer is simple. There was money to be made by ducking this issue. Special Interest Groups hire Lobbyists to spread some cash around inside the Beltway. Cheap wages, zero taxes, and no benefits for tens of thousands of workers is a mighty strong inducement to inter into a little "Payola."

Was just watching Just In with Laura Ingraham and they were talking about illegal aliens in this country. Wanna see something that is even more disturbing look at "Harsh Laws" on "you tube". This is sad. It seems that all we do in this country is try to take over the weak countries that have the oil and we can't even do that let alone fix the immagration problem that we have in this country. It seems that the latest regime that we have in this country is all caught up in how many wars we can fight at once. If we dealt with the real problems here and not worry about countries that can't take care of themselves maybe we would be better off. I don't know if anybody has noticed but gas is at $4 a gallon and we are in control of a country that has a lot of it and what do they spend over there? I betcha it's nowhere near $4 dollars. WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

For Brett Allen,

As both a proud gun owner and a Christian with a Bible, my suggestion for you would be to hop across the border with the Mexicans you like so much before the fence is built. The influx of Mexican people into our country is far too great for our economy to handle. While I may agree with you that most Mexicans I've seen are hard workers, if they are here illegally, they cause far more problems than if they came in on a work visa.

Ask any trucker on the road how many Mexicans are now illegally driving trucks over the road. There's one for you Brett. One of these lovely friends of yours smashes you into pieces when he falls asleep behind the wheel of a truck and he is not required in any way to pay for any damages or injuries you have. Why? Because he is here illegally and our justice system has no way to punish them if they aren't a citizen. I have several friends and relatives driving over the road who tell me horror stories about these idiots who have been given only 3 to 7 days training to drive a big rig down our highways.

Anyway, the simple fact of the matter is this, Brett, you're an idiot. If you think Mexicans coming into this country working for less money is a good thing (it will lower everyone's wages, including yours) you should probably find the hole these guys are sneaking through and head south. I hear the cheap labor has done wonders for the Mexican economy. As for the comment about right wing people finding a place to hide clutching their guns and bibles, I'll correct that for you; The intelligent people (right wing) in this country are finally showing some sense by removing idiots like yourself (ignorant left wingers) and taking back elections that have been won for years by illegal votes by people who aren't even citizens. We will, in fact, be standing proud and holding our guns and our Bibles as we look through our new border fence that will FINALLY bring a new level of protection to this country. It is people like yourself that weaken and cheapen the values of the USA and stupid, uneducated opinions like the one you made here only undermine those values even more. Read a book on economics and, while you're at it, read one on socialism (which is what it appears you and most left wingers want) and perhaps you can see the error of your ways. American citizenship is the most sought after in the world for a reason: This is the greatest country on this planet. Love it or leave it.

Great ariticle Cal. 100% agreement from me.

Comment by jeff payson June 23rd, 2008 at 7:00 pm
The invasion force can bring ladders. Does anybody at the government or commentator’s club care about how much money is spent vs. effectiveness?

Whoa, what an absurd "rationale". Somehow, when it comes to putting a fence around the White House or a residential community that so many opponents of the border fence live, the moronic argument "show me a 10 ft fence and I will show you an 11 ft ladder" doesn't work.

The border fence is a necessary (but by no means the only) step towards regaining control of our Southern border. Although it's not 100% effective (nothing really is), it's effective enough to thwart mass illegal "migration" of Mexicans into the U.S. And this is the main reason why they oppose it so vehementely.

TO JUSTICEFORALL: Very well put! I had a government professor in college; he told me the exact same thing. That Mexico/mexicans were going take over the southwest again without firing a shot. I live in the southwest and the part I live in, the white people are the minority now! I know of a resident, I'm presuming a hispanic, that has two flag poles in front of his house. On one pole he flies the American Flag, on the other pole he flies the Mexican Flag and at the same height. This guy is in the United States of America! If he wants to fly his Mexican Flag, then he needs to go to Mexico and fly it there!

I'm sick and tired of placing a phone call and having to press '1' for English!!! I'm sick and tired of seeing job descriptions that prefer bilingual employees!!! I'm tired of English as second language (ESL)!!! THIS IS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA...ENGLISH SHOULD NOT BE A SECOND LANGUAGE!!!! IF YOU WANT TO COME FROM A FORIEGN COUNTRY TO LIVE IN THIS COUNTRY, YOU SHOULD LEARN ENGLISH OR JUST GET BY THE BEST YOU CAN!!!! Does anyone think that Mexico has Spanish as a second language??

My place of employment is about 3/4 hispanic. You know what...I think I'll start yelling discrimination.
